As you've got to this page you probably already know that Sheila and I will shortly be going to Nepal for 2 years as VSO volunteers. To find out more go to www.sheilaandroshan.blogspot.com.
Nepal's spectacular scenery and ancient culture may make it a tourist mecca but it is one of the poorest countries in the world with 40% of the population living in poverty. Apart from being an exciting new adventure for us, we hope by sharing our skills and experience with local colleagues we can help them effect change.
VSO was voted top international development charity at the Charity Awards 2004 but awards don't pay the bills. On average, it costs £3.58 to keep volunteers living and working in a country like Nepal for a single day and it would be fantastic if you made a donation to help VSO continue its work in disadvantaged countries.
Please dig deep and give generously. If you tick the Gift Aid box, VSO will receive an extra 28% of tax credit. Many thanks for your support.
