Story
In April 2009 I will be joining a world record attempt for the highest game of field sport - in this case Twenty20 Cricket- ever played. We will be trekking to Gorak Shep, a plateau close to Everest Base Camp to undertake a full, competitive game of Cricket. At 5,165m, this will be the highest game of field sport ever played.
In addition to the record attempt, we are supporting 2 charities; The Himilayan Trust UK and Sport Relief. I am raising money for The Himilayan Trust, a charity set up by Sir Edmund Hillary in 1960 to support local societies, in preserving both local tradition and lifestyle, investing in education and infrastructure, and working on basic health and forestry programmes.
This is going to be hardcore and we all need to incredibly fit, so there's a lot of training going on at the moment....more of which can be seen on my blog
The overall fundraising target for the whole team 250,000, so we need a great deal of support from our friends, family, acquaintances and colleagues.
I very much hope that you are able to support our effort for The Himalayan Trust, and will take part in watching the progress of The Everest Test as the expedition gains in momentum.
Please take the time to have a look at our website to really find out about what we're up to: www.theeveresttest.com.
