Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On 24th April I completed the first leg of my 'Up Hill Task' to raise money for MS Research. I managed to finish The Three Peaks Race in under 4 hours and ten minutes which traverses the famous Yorkshire Dales Mountains of Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside, covering 24 miles including heights of 2,500 feet above sea level. To read more about my experience visit: http://nicksmarathondiary.blogspot.com/
The next leg was the Leeds Half marathon on 9th May which I ran in a personal best time of 1 hour 22 minutes and 30 seconds, finishing 43rd overall.
I had then planned to run the Yorkshireman fell marathon on 12th September with my mate Jamie but he fell ill the week before so we had to pull out.
So instead I am running the Dublin marathon on 25th October for Savvy Sport courtesy of adidas with the aim of achieving a sub 3 hour time.
The reason I’m doing all this is as I said at the beginning is to raise money for research into the causes and potential treatments for MS sufferers. My brother Ben was diagnosed with MS nearly seven years ago now and has shown great strength and courage in dealing with the variety of unpredictable and debilitating symptoms that affect MS sufferers on a daily basis.
You can sponsor me through Justgiving which is quick, easy and totally secure. If you’re a UK taxpayer, make sure you fill in the Gift Aid details so the taxman can give an extra 25%, plus a 3% supplement, to your donation. If you would prefer to donate in person, you can get in touch with me or one of my family members who will have good old fashioned sponsorship forms!
