Story

On Saturday 12th June, thirty cyclists from Tait Walker, Barclays Bank, Crutes law firm, Gordon Brown Associates, HSBC bank, Lloyds TSB and Yorkshire Bank are taking part in the "Northern Rock Cyclone Challenge" - a route of 63 miles around Northumberland.

The event starts at the Falcons Rugby Club and takes a hilly route around quiet roads and through villages in Northumberland, ascending 1217m (3993 feet) in the 63 miles.  It is described as " a ride for semi serious cyclists or those who want a challenge" ..........  Heaven help our lot !!

We have decided to raise money for St Oswald's Hospice, based in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, who provide hospice care for adults and children.  Families from across the region - Northumberland and Tyne and Wear - benefit from their services and St Oswald's provide a holistic approach that aims to address not just physical symptoms, but also spiritual and emotional needs too.  Annual running costs for the hospice now exceed £8 million – of which over £6 million must be raised through voluntary giving and they make no charge for any of their services, ensuring hospice care is available to everyone.

Any donation you feel able to give would be most appreciated.

With many thanks.

The Tait Walker Team.
