Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page - raising funds for the developing Triratna Sangha in Barcelona (http://budismo-barcelona.com).

In March 2011 myself, Sinhendra and Bernard rented a piso (apartment) for a community in the district of Poble Sec, on the slopes of the Montjuic mount and near to Barcelona's old city. This is the first Triratna community in Barcelona and will be a base for us to expand our activities. It is an exciting adventure for all of us.

Currently there is a regular introductory meditation class in the city centre. We rent a space from a Yoga studio near the Ramblas (see our website for details). Several people lead the classes especially Amalamati, Padmadharani, Rijumati and some of the local friends. We have maybe 10 regular friends and a larger group of people who come sometimes. What is needed most is to take things deeper.

We are just starting to do a practice evening of meditation, puja and a light snack (tapas). Several of our friends are very keen on this. There is also a need for a Dharma study class and I have been asked for meditation teaching in English. I hope before long to find a venue in which to offer that for the many english speakers in the city. We also want to run weekend retreats and workshops, which are a popular activity in Catalunya.

Additionally we could do with some material resources like cushions blankets and mats.
