News update: We did it! The tour finally arrived at John O'Groats and took it's rightful place in the book at the cafe. A fantastic effort from everyone who supported and took part in this spectacular event, and helped raise funds for Help the Hospices.

News update: All four routes converged at Binley head office yesterday, to a fantastic reception. The route headed north today (8th), with Peter Hindle MBE and 5 times world cyclo-cross champion Mick Ives powering to Stoke-on-Trent, where Paul Murray, Mark Padden, and Alex Rawson carried the torch onto Stockport. The weekend break means that Monday will travel on to Stockton-on-Tees!

News Update: The tour is well underway after day 2, with all four routes pedalling towards Coventry for arrival on the 7th of October!

Some photos of the routes so far have been added to show the efforts made to help this worthy cause!

In October, Jewson will be undertaking its largest charity event ever, incorporating staff from all over the business, suppliers from all sectors and customers.

The “Tour de Jewson” cycling event will begin on October 4th, starting out from four locations – Haverfordwest, Penzance, and .  These four routes will make there way across the country, meeting at Binley Head Office on October 7th for Environmental Health and Safety Day.

A single route will then travel northwards, eventually finishing in John O’Groats on Saturday October 16th – after a total travelling distance of 1,801 miles!

100 miles will be covered each day, consisting of five 20-mile stages – the cycling will take place between 8am and 6pm, giving plenty of time for cyclists of all abilities to take part and raise valuable funds for our corporate charity partner Help the Hospices.

The event will visit 68 Jewson branches, 11 Regional Sales Centres and various supplier premises en-route.

The focus of the entire event is our corporate charity partner Help the Hospices.  This fantastic organisation provides valuable help and support to those coming to the end of their lives and their families. One in three people in the have received support from the charity and the event should add substantially to the £120k already raised for the cause by Saint-Gobain Building Distribution UK!
