Story

LeMans 24 hour Cycle Challenge - Tom Greenwood

I've now completed the LeMans 24 hour Cycle Challenge.  As part of SeeAbility's Bike for Sight Team, I cycled from Leatherhead in Surrey to LeMans, France.   I completed the 170miles within 24hours, but sadly for me that wasn't quite the end.  Due to a series of navigational errors along the way, the total distance to the the hotel in LeMans was 185miles.  Oh well, what's an extra 15miles!  It took 12hours riding at an average of 15miles per hour and was certainly a big challenge, but we all completed it and have raised a lot of money for SeeAbility.

Thankyou to everyone that has sponsored me.  I never expected to raise anything like this much and there is still some sponsorship coming in.  If you haven't sponsored me and you would like to, then there is still some time.  Just click on the link below.

Just to remind you, SeeAbility (The Royal School for the Blind) provides residential care and training for young blind people.  SeeAbility's work is focussed on helping young visually impaired people, who often also have additional disabilities, to become independent and achieve their full potential in life.

Many thanks for all your support.

About the charity

SeeAbility provides ambitious social care for people with learning disabilities, autism and sight loss. We encourage them to challenge what they expect from life, from themselves and from wider society - and they in turn challenge us all to think about what’s possible, and to rethink disability.
