I am taking part in a sponsored cycle ride through Northern Vietnam.  After the brain injury I sustained as a result of a BMX riding accident in February of last year, I would like to give something back to the charity that helped me and my family so much through that difficult time; Headway. 
 
I spent weeks in hospital as a result of the injury, including days spent in a coma in intensive care, and it has taken me over a year to fully recover from the accident. The support offered during this time from the charity was invaluable, and raised my awareness of the worthwhile work they do. Every year, over one million people are admitted to hospital with a brain injury, and Headway helps these people and their families to deal with the difficulties of this complex injury. 
 
The venture will involve riding approximately 80-100 km a day through the mountainous region of Northern Vietnam, and by taking part on the trip I hope to raise £3000, or more, for Headway.
