Tile Giant Sutton Charity Bike Ride

Charity Bike Ride · 10 July 2016
Here at Tile Giant Sutton we have set ourselves a mammoth challenge of cycling 874 miles on a exercise bike within a 10 days starting on July 10th for an amazing charity called Anthony Nolan which is a blood cancer charity. What they do is simply amazing they help find potential donors from all over the world to help save the lives of people who are in desperate need of blood stem cells or bone marrow to give them lifesaving transplants.
Here below is a true story of one of my colleagues who is also enduring this massive challenge, please take 5 short minutes to have a read, thank you in advance.
I have a friend, we shall call him Michael. He told me about a brother I never knew he had. At just a young age he was diagnosed with leukaemia. At the time I was going through a difficult stage in my life and my mother asked me to please finally visit my father's grave after never wanting to for 5 years and counting.
After talking it over with Michael he told me his brother was buried in the same cemetery and offered to accompany me and so he did.
I loved my father very much and I still do so by doing this I know it would leave me very distraught but Michael was never the person I would imagine to show an emotion like he did.
He was always so cheery and a joy to be around, but, seeing his brother's infant sized grave stripped that persona he always had about him and left with him with a fraction of that.
Death is always a painful obstacle in life. I at least had that chance to know my family before their departure but Michael never had his chance to see his brother grow up and see him talk, and walk.
Did that hit you as hard as it hit me reading this, if so please put your hands in your pockets and donate anything you can afford, anything big or small it all helps in so many ways.
Please help us raise money and awareness for Anthony Nolan Blood Cancer Charity.
Thank you.
