Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Thank you for visiting my page. I have MS but I'm one of the lucky ones. 7 years ago I was struggling with this terrible illness. I was fortunate enough to be selected for a trial treatment that changed my life.

When I had my last relapse I had no sensation from the neck down. I couldn't walk. I couldn't care for myself. Eating and drinking was a challenge. I couldn't read a book as I couldn't turn the pages. I very nearly couldn't hold our eldest son when he was born but luckily symptoms abated three days before he arrived.

I had to stop playing sport and you all know how important that is to me. Even after my relapse running was a struggle - a sluggish 400m jog was impossible. The fatigue was consuming, my outlook and mood were bleak.

Then I had Lemtrada. It turned my life round. I've had no relapses in 7 years. I've got bags of energy - which I need to keep up with my two duracell charged children. The fatigue is a very rare visitor and I can run again, though after 8 years it's hard work! That said I've managed to get a post MS PB of 5km in just over 25 mins.

But the fight against MS is still a reality for thousands more people. We've still not found a cure. Though my treatment has been miraculous wouldn't it be great if we could stop people developing the condition in the first place?

So I'm running my first post MS 10km as testament to what research can do and in the hope that you will sponsor me to help raise more funds for valuable research and support for those that have been negatively affected by this horrible condition.

Thank you for your support and please spread the word!
