Story

I’ve been a fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support for almost 20 years and in that time I’ve cycled through Brazil, climbed Kilimanjaro and trekked through New Zealand. I’ve jumped out of aeroplanes, walked across hot coals and rowed the equivalent distance of the English Channel (and then back). I’ve ran from Lands End to John ‘O’ Groats, ran, walked and cycled the C2C, and ran the 3 peaks. in 2017 I ran 100 marathons in 100 days.  I’ve ran the Fred Whitton cycle route and completed 7 London marathons (the 1st in 2015 I ran from my home in Cumbria to London and then took part in the marathon). In 2021 to celebrate Macmillan’s 110th birthday and to raise funds for Hospice at Home West Cumbria, I ran 110 marathons in 110 days. Due to Covid most charities suffered big financial losses with all the major fundraising events cancelled. Hospice at Home West Cumbria were no exception and I wanted to raise much needed funds and awareness of the charity and celebrate the fantastic work that they do.

This challenge will be the biggest thing I’ve ever taken part in and I will run 365 marathons in 365 days.
