Hi
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Despite four marathon rides in aid of Hope UK, I have never cracked the 100 miles in a day barrier until now. I did thisI so thirstforlife 2007 could benefit.
Something has to be done to reduce all the harm related to drinking alcohol. It’s not acceptable that as many as 1.3million children in are suffering because of their parents’ drinking - and binge drinking is storing up health problems for the future as well as posing plenty of problems in the present.
thirstforlife 2006 was great. It gave thousands of people a voice to express their concern about binge drinking or to see if they could stop for 40 days! One of those who saw their life changed wrote:
“I struggled at the weekend and many peeps don’t think I’ll make it. So I have betted them all that I can. The money I get will go to charity. I must admit I feel better, less tired and its such a great feeling to wake up on a Sunday morning not feeling like I should be in intensive care.”
There are plenty more people who would benefit from thinking about their drinking – and accepting a 40-day challenge to go alcohol-free. Please help me get work for 2007 off to a great start. Visit www.thirstforlife.org to see what I mean.
Your gift would help pay for things like printing a million postcards to go into cinemas and universities throughout the – or updating the website – or getting valuable information about alcohol to those who really need it. thirstforlife 2006 proved to be a really creative means of helping people, lets make 2007 even better!
Please help if you can.
Best Wishes
George
PS Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also a most efficient way to sponsor me: Hope UK will receive your money quickly and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
PPS thirstforlife is one of the projects that Hope UK is involved in. Please visit www.hopeuk.org if you're interested in a speaker for your group or training in drug education.
