Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Writing Coach, a mentoring and development organisation for writers is supporting African Revival in 2011 and beyond.

Thanks for supporting our #just£2 campaign! If you are a writer who has enjoyed the work of The Writing Coach, please give just £2 to African Revival.

We will be supporting this charity via our new website, via the sales of eBooks and via membership fees for our online community. However, we hope our support will go further than this and that many members of our community will be inspired to donate directly to the charity via this page. If you feel that The Writing Coach has inspired you in your writing life, you can say thank-you by donating to African Revival here. Just £2 will make a huge difference, if everyone who visits The Writing Coach donates.

African Revival have a vision of Africa where children have access to education, opportunity and choice. They believe in the power of education to change lives. By building schools, training teachers and overcoming barriers to education, they aim to break that cycle of poverty and offer inspiration and opportunity to Africa's future generations. In 5 years, they have directly helped 250,000 people.

As writers, I believe we have a duty to support literacy and education worldwide, but particularly in the developing world, where education and literacy will be key to building a better future for all. So many writers suffer angst about literary success, yet in truth we are privileged to have an education and to be able to write at all. Here is our opportunity to recognise this.

This charity is based close to my own home, enabling me to develop a personal relationship with the charity director and fundraising team. I aim to give our community regular updates of how your donations are helping in Africa.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
