We are transforming lives with solar lights to help both people and the planet.

Story

"Starting on 15 May 2009, Susie Wheeldon, Jamie Vining and Iain Henderson will cycle 12,000 miles around the world. They will use thin-film photovoltaic (PV) solar panels and state of the art mobile phone technology to stay in constant on-line communication at: www.thesolarcyclediaries.com

Through deserts, across oceans and over mountain ranges, the team will highlight ways we can work together to combat climate change. In particular, they will demonstrate the potential for solar energy to provide a sustainable solution to global energy needs.

The trip will profile and raise funds for SolarAid - the UK's first solar energy charity for the developing world."

Thank you so much for any donations you can make to this fantastic charity*.

Keep in touch and please feel free to spread the word about the expedition and all things solar.

Of course if anyone fancies joining us for a stretch... drag out that lycra and get in touch.

Susie, Iain & Jamie x

*SolarAid was set up to fight the two most important threats facing the world today: global poverty and climate change. The charity trains rural communities in Africa to build and sell small solar devices, such as solar radios, solar lanterns or solar mobile phones.
