Story
As many of you know, my journey with myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow, started in 2009 when it turned our life upside down. However, after high dose chemo and a stem cell transplant in 2011, I have been lucky enough to see 5 years of remission so far. And I hope to see a number more before a relapse - I have too much left to do in my life and with my lovely family.
I am very conscious of how lucky I am. I have seen many friends pass away from this terrible and incurable cancer and it is crucial that research is undertaken so that this cancer at the very least becomes a chronic condition rather than an incurable condition.
So many people have supported me over the past 7 years and helped me to raise over £100,000! But in 2016/17 I want to do one final push to reach £125,000!
On the 22nd April 2017, I will be holding 'The Perfect Pair', a food and wine evening, to try to reach this goal. I am so grateful to my sponsors, Hogarths Stone Manor (where we got married in Worcestershire) for donating the venue and their services, and to Nickolls and Perks (a fantastic independent wine merchant in Stourbridge) for supporting the wines.
If you'd like to more about myeloma or the journey the family and I have gone through, please follow my blog at www.debsjourneywithmyeloma.wordpress.com.
Thanks tonnes!
