Story
East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) supports local families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions. Our care and support, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, is tailored for the needs of all family members and delivered wherever needed- the family home, at hospital, in the community or at one of our three hospices.
Our Norfolk hospice at Quidenham has been an incredible home-from home to many families for more than 25 years. However, the hospice was converted from an old country house and is restricted in its facilities and development. We believe children and families in Norfolk and North Suffolk should be able to receive the very best of services, in an accessible purpose-built environment.
Our vision for a new hospice in the heart of Norfolk will enable us to provide more choice and flexibility to families, increased overnight accommodation, improved care for bereaved families, improved medical equipment to meet increasingly complex care needs, hydrotherapy, more play and recreation spaces as well as improved facilities for on-site family support groups and activities.
With a £10 million appeal target to achieve our vision, the support of the Norfolk community was vital to our success.
On 15th November 2017 we started building The Nook just outside Norwich, in Framingham Earl.
On Monday 30th September we welcomed the first families to come and stay at The Nook for short break care. With your support, the nook is now a fully operational hospice and all our services have transferred over from Quidenham.
Although close to reaching our public campaign total. we do still need to continue fundraising to complete the appeal. Thank you to everyone for their support to make this happen!
Thank you.
