Story

Bismillah Ar Rahman Ar Raheem

With the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Very-Merciful.

The NewLife Project

Muhammad SalAllahu ‘alaihi wassalam said, ‘…Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala remains committed to help his servant as long as he stays committed to help his brother in need…’ (Muslim)

The Horn of Africa comprises Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea & Somalia. In earlier times, this area was referred to as Habasha. It became one of the few regions that Islam reached at its beginning. Through the noble words of Ja’far ibn Abu Talib Radiallahu ‘anhu, Islam shone over Habasha before even that of the blessed Madinah.

Last year’s famine in the region led to a huge response by the donors of Ummah Welfare Trust. Alhamdulilah thousands of Muslims in Somalia were helped due to your concern and generosity
. However, life for thousands of families in Somalia still remains grim. Food prices remain cripplingly high, health outcomes are still dire and the civil war is now escalating.

Last year our brothers and sisters in the Horn of Africa were facing the worst drought seen in 60 years. Poverty became extreme: children were dying of starvation, pregnancies were resulting in miscarriages and farmers' livelihoods were being destroyed.

Alhamdulillah with the support of its donors, UWT’s work in this region continues unabated.

Now in the medium to long-term phase, UWT intends to embark upon a special project to help 5,000 rural families start a new life - a new life that will only cost £700.

This project in support of UWT aims to help 100 families to re-build their lives insha’Allah. For JUST £700, YOU can help a family re-start their life and provide them with the essential necessities that we unfortunately take for granted.

 £700 will insha’Allah help fund:

A new handmade steel home that will last a lifetime

  • A 35Kg food package – Contains rice and flour
  • A kitchen and wash set – a 45 piece set containing stove, pots, water cooler etc
  • A family set of clothes – 6 pairs of clothes and 6 pairs of slippers
  • A new bedding set – Mattresses, pillows and blankets
  • A new hygiene set – Mosquito nets, soap, miswaaks and more
  • A Quran and prayer mat
  • The books Bulugh Al Maram and Riyadh as-Saliheen

This start-up pack is unique and has been specifically tailored for rural families in Somalia following assessments and surveys. Insha’Allah we pray we can assist UWT in their noble work to help 100 families to re-start their lives!

This aim however can only be fulfilled with your support and generosity. The charity is asking its donors, who have opened their hearts so readily when called upon, to help give a family in Somalia a new life insha’Allah. Just £700 can do this!

Every penny counts and by Allah the one who gives in charity is not in loss!

Please show your generosity today and please help support this project insha’Allah.

Zakah Accepted

Shelter and a safe haven to live in is such an essential necessity whose absence we ourselves cannot ever perceive. We are one Ummah and we love for our brother that which we love for ourself. Please show your support today insha’Allah.

May Allah Almighty Reward you greatly in this world and the hereafter - and may He Subhanahu wa Ta’ala Grant you happiness just as you will bring many smiles to our brothers and sisters in Somalia. Ameen.

 JazakumAllahu Khayran
