Story
Chris, Tam and Matt are running the London Marathon on the 23rd of April 2017 in aid of War Child. Our mission is to raise a further £10k for War Child in order to "save ten children's lives by reuniting them with their family or placing them in a safe foster family".
Matt and Andy raised almost £35,000 for War Child by cycling around the world. Following a few too many drinks Chris, Matt and Tam thought it would be great to take on another challenge in aid of War Child, this time the London Marathon.
It's hard for us to comprehend the true horror of war or living in a war zone, let alone dealing with this situation as a child, or as an orphan. But this is the reality many children in Syria and other countries are faced with. During this delicate stage of their lives this has terrible and far reaching consequences. Right now there are 30 million children who have been forced to leave their homes or are separated from their families because of wars. Donating right now is a chance for you make a positive impact in the lives of these children who desperately need our help:
Your donation will make a very real difference:
£5 - Books and stationary for 1 child at summer school.
£16 - Will provide books and stationery to help one child catch up on their lost education
£30 - Could pay for educational toys for 1 early education centre
£100 - Could pay for a child to go to school for a year
£250 - Could pay for a child to have trauma counselling for a year
£500 - Could turn a young person’s dreams into a reality by funding literacy, life skills and vocational training for a year
£1,000 - Could save a child’s life by reuniting them with their family or being placed in a safe foster family
The Cycle Diaries was a round-the-world cycling adventure covering 30,000 miles, through 35 countries, over 4 continents, lasting 3 years.
