Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving Page in memory of Ken Reid, my dad. If you’d like to make a donation to Diabetes UK I’d be very grateful, as it will help them provide the vital support people need to ensure they don’t face diabetes alone.. Thank you.
My dad was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 13. He always wanted to have his body donated to science to hopefully help with research into diabetes and anything else he was useful for, but for a couple of different reasons this was unable to happen. This is the main reason I would like to raise money for Diabetes UK, my dad can’t help but I would like to.
These days it seems to be the norm in our society to think about the worst that could happen in a situation and not the best. I am aware there are some horrible and dangerous people out there but the majority of people are nice and have no malicious intent, they just want to help. So I want to put this to the test and see how far I can get purely on the kindness of others.
I would appreciate it if you could help me raise money for a great charity doing great work supporting people to have diabetes of all ages with all types and stages of the disease. Diabetes is becoming more and more common in the UK with more than 3.2 million people already having been diagnosed, that is 6% of adults in the UK.
