Statements from the team members :
Simon
"I've been wanting to do the marathon for about 4 years now, ever since I realised I could run 6 miles without completely collapsing. And, with 6 miles comfortably under my belt, how hard can the next 20 be? I'm 34, I'm at least 3 stone over weight and I'm epileptic...oh dear! But, I'm here to do it and complete it I will. And, with your help, I'm confident we'll raise the 1700 pounds for Scope, an amazing charity."
"Im am SIMON. I AM the Marathon. I OWN the marathon. I'm slightly dizzy now......"
Ant
"We have been threatening to run the marathon for several years now (in fact, since we ran the Great North Run together in 2007) and we're finally out of excuses... so this is it, the big one!
It will probably be the only time we ever run the London Marathon, or any full marathon come to that, so we have decided to take this opportunity to raise money for Scope - a fantastic charity that supports those with cerebral palsy and fights to achieve equality for all disabled people.
I help to provide library support to disabled students and this campaign is very close to my heart. So please support Scope and us by donating money on this page, we appreciate it hugely!"
