Story
On 6th May 2010 we were blessed with the arrival of our beautiful boy, Daniel, who graced our lives for 9 unforgettable days. During this time and after he left us, we were supported by Acorns Hospice in Selly Oak. Acorns Hospice is an amazing place which provided love, expertise, compassion and understanding at a time when we needed it. Over the past ten years, generously helped by our family, friends and colleagues, we have tried to raise as much money as possible for Acorns so that other families can be helped in the way that we were. This year, when we would have celebrated Daniel's tenth birthday, we had planned to commemorate his life with a quiz night as well as a 90 mile cycle (10 for each day of his life) in the Peak District. Unfortunately, because of the Coronavirus Pandemic, both of these events had to be cancelled. So, we have decided to use our daily 1 hour exercise allowance to raise some money instead. Mike and I intend to cycle 10 miles each (that takes us 1 hour if we cycle really hard!!) every day for 9 days from Daniel's birthday on the 6th May to 14th May and are asking if people would be kind enough to sponsor us. Every penny will be very gratefully received by us and Acorns who, like all charities at the moment, have been hit hard by the impact of the virus. Thank you for your support - it really is appreciated.
