TeamMax have come together to fundraise in the memory of our little Max (22 months), who tragically passed away in his sleep due to an unexplained effect on his nervous system known as SUDEP (Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy) in June this year. Max had a genetic Epilepsy known as GEFS+ along the Dravet gene spectrum. Our aim is to provide a research grant into difficult to control Epilepsy in children and SUDEP and to create greater awareness of Epilepsy in general, which 3% of the worlds population live with. We are also keen to help Poole Hospital Childrens' Unit secure an Epilepsy specialist nurse, there are over 2000 children in Dorset diagnosed with a form of Epilepsy. Due to the complexity of the brain, there is a vast gap in its understanding and research is critical to the better management & cure of Epilepsy. Medicines are increasingly getting better, but side effects and uncontrolled seizures are still too great. Please see our website for more information & our calendar of events www.teammax.co.uk
Your support means a great deal and we hope it will help to change the lives of youngsters and parents living with Epilepsy.
