Driving into the city or town centre (and parking) during December can leave you feeling more flustered than festive but hop on a bus in the North East and you may find yourself being driven to your destination by someone who can help, as Santa takes the driver’s seat for Stagecoach North East’s seasonal fundraising efforts.
Bus drivers dressed as Santa bring festive cheer to passengers and collect donations for a variety of local good causes, with many of these volunteers raising money every year for their chosen charities. The Santas also hand out Stagecoach gifts onboard for passengers, including sweets and Christmas themed merchandise.

Of course, the driving Santas are reliant on the generousity of their customers to raise money and they are never disappointed. Year after year, people across the region continue to donate impressive amounts to the collections.
