On the 5th May this year, Daron Devenish, Alistair Devenish, Peter Devenish, Richard Burch and Andrew Metcalfe will be running the Milton Keynes Marathon in aid of The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. Daron's wonderful 5 year old son Oscar, someone very very close to us all, has been diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a neuromuscular condition caused by the lack of a protein called dystrophin. It is a serious condition that causes progressive muscle weakness. About 100 boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy are born in the United Kingdom each year. You can find out more information at www.muscular-dystrophy.org
Please help us raise as much money as possible to support the research so desperately needed to strive towards potential treatments for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. We don't need any motivation to run the marathon, Oscar is enough, but we so need your support for the charity.
We promise to provide regular updates through Facebook and Twitter, showing the ridiculous measures the five of us are putting ourselves through to get to that finish line!
Your support is very much appreciated.
