Thank you for taking the time to visit Ponteland High School's Just Giving page.
We have set ourselves a massively challenging fund raising target on behalf of the Great North Air Ambulance in memory of two much loved, and much missed, former students.
A group of over 40 staff, students and community members will be doing the Great North Run to raise £10,000. We chose to “Run for Rachel” in memory of Rachel Blaylock who was due to complete the Great North Run in 2014 but was tragically killed in a car crash two months before the event.
We are raising money for the Great North Air Ambulance Service because of their role in the rescue attempt of Victoria Wilkinson and her father in 2009. Victoria was a student at our school at the time of the accident and sadly neither her nor her father survived the accident. We have remained close to the families of both girls.
There were so many staff and students people in school who wanted to be part of this fundraising programme so we are also planning a number of other events including a sponsored ski, a charity swim event, a Coast to Coast cycle and the Northern Angel Sportive. We will update our page with more information about this when dates and numbers are confirmed.
We feel that raising money for such a worthy cause is the best way to pay tribute to these two wonderful and much missed students. Please give generously to our cause and share this message with as many people as you can – and of course, please feel free to come and support us at the events.
Thank you very much
