In July this year our team of three (Sam, David and I) will be driving 13,000-14,000 miles to Ulaanbaatar, and then back again, in our pure-bred rally vehicle...ahem...our 30 year old 1 litre, 3 door VW MK2 Polo, partly out of adventurous spirit and partly out of charitable-ness.
Our route will take us from the start point near London, across Europe to Istanbul, across Iran and Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, before heading across the Kazakh desert and the Mongolian Steppe to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, and then back to London via Russia and Northern Europe. All in about 6 weeks...with luck.
The aim is to raise as much as possible for Cool Earth and the London Air Ambulance. Following the devastating events in Nepal, we are also keen to help out with fundraising for the British Red Cross. These all require their own pages, so pick your preferred charity!

Once under way, you will be able to keep track of us with the rally blogging site - more on this later. Thanks in advance for your donation, and wish us luck!
