John Ayres was a true gentleman, loved by everyone who knew him and had the pleasure to work with him. He was an inspiration to all and his untimely and premature death is a great loss to the equestrian industry. John had been courageously battling cancer and tragically lost his fight on the 4th of June 2013.
John was a fantastically generous man and always put the needs of others before his own. He was a dedicated supporter of a number of worthy causes and charities and in lieu of flowers John and his family have requested that donations be made instead to two charities particularly close to their hearts: The Injured Jockeys Fund and Tenovus Cancer Charity.
