Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
We are hoping to raise £2000 to buy a new heart monitor for Birmingham Children's Hospital. Our main event is the Birmingham Half Marathon on 21st October, but donations are being received from other events too! Please visit a page below and donate :-)
A message from George's mum - Why put ourselves through a gruelling half marathon? - My 6 year old son, George, was born with a serious heart condition, Fallot's Tetrology. He has undergone several major heart surgeries at BCH.
Two years ago, George was in a critical condition when his aorta ruptured a few weeks after undergoing heart surgery. He underwent further emergency surgery and thankfully all is now well.
George has spent many weeks under the great care of these wards and I have spent many an anxious hour glued to the heart monitors, waiting to see improvements. I have spoken to the heart unit, and what they dearly need is better heart monitoring equipment for the cardiac wards. The machines cost about £2,000 each and this is where you can help. All money donated will be put towards buying this equipment. Please help with whatever you can.
Thank you - Vicky Watson (George's Mum)XXX
