3 men & a bike …. Yes, you did read that correctly!..... For those old enough to remember ‘The Goodies you will know exactly the bike in question…….for those youngsters out there …..its like a tandem but for 3 people.
To ride this contraption is a challenge in its own right but we’ve decided to make it even harder. We’re going to ride from the Lowest point in the Great Britain, Holme Fen, to the Highest point in the Great Britain, Ben Nevis. Approximately 500 miles separates these 2 extreme point
Holme Fen, Cambridgeshire (just south of Peterborough) specifically Holme Posts, is believed to be the lowest land point in Great Britain at 9.0 ft (2.75 metres) below sea level
Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles at 4,408 ft (1,344 metres) above sea level. Located at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Lochaber area of Scotland.
That’s 500 miles in 5 days, then climb Ben Nevis ……. and yes we are taking the bike up there as well.
So who is ‘we’ …….. Obviously there are 3 of us riding! Andy Gray, Billy Spellman & Andy Layland Together we are ‘3 Men & a Bike’ and will be doing this challenge to raise money for our chosen charities. The charities are all worthy causes so all you need do is click on the links below to support your rider / charity. Of course you can support all 3 riders and charities …. There’s no limit !!!
We start this adventure leaving Holme Fen on Monday 22nd June 2015, arriving at Fort William on Friday 26th June 2015
CHALLENGE YOURSELF …………Why not set your own challenge for 2015? Come join us on Saturday 27th June 2015 and climb Ben Nevis with us. Stand on top of Great Britain’s highest point and say ‘I did that’ …. Raise a few £’s for your own charity as well. Perhaps spend a long weekend enjoying the beauty of the Scottish Highlands.
If you want to know more about the ride, the riders, the charities or how to join in the fun please contact anyone of us.
Thanks for your support
