To honour Jacobs 1st birthday in a few weeks time Ben will be completing the 5 set challenge!
As some of you are aware Jacob was born with a rare congenital abnormality of Oesophageal Atresia and Tracheoesophogeal Fistula. Linked with this he also has severe Tracheomalacia and Hydronephrosis. He had a life saving operation at just 24 hours old and then at 8 weeks old we were dealt with the devastating news that he had a second/recurring fistula and he was tube fed and nil by mouth for 5 months. The journey hasn't ended, we still have daily battles with food getting stuck and he is still now almost purely puree fed. Our beautiful boy will have to deal with this condition for life, he's fixed but never cured. We have tried to give him the best start possible along with keeping Joshua settled while in and out of hospital. There are two charities that we couldn't have done without that we'd like to ask family and friends to donate to these rather than giving Jacob presents this year.
These are the Sick Children's Trust and the TOFs charity.
Ben will be completing a set of tennis against a coach at 5 different tennis clubs within St Albans and Harpenden. He will be jogging between the venues before playing the next set! This will total approximately 15km of running and 2.5 hours of tennis in one day. Wish him luck!!
Thank you
