Some 20 members of Harold Wood CC will be doing a charity walk on Friday August 21st 2015 in aid of raising funds for their Academy and Disability section of the club.
The club currently provides coaching for 50 under 21 year olds at a cost of £80 – we are looking to cut this cost right down to get more youngsters involved in the sport.
The Disability section of the club also trains at the club. These members and their families are not charged currently and the club is looking to be able to continue to support this part of the community.
To help raise funds we are doing a charity walk from The Oval Cricket ground to Harold Wood CC (approx 20 miles) on Friday August 21st, and we are looking for your support.
“In recent times we have extended the coaching we do at the club from ages 9 to 16 so that now the youngsters can be coached all the way up to the age of 21” comments HWCC Chairman Tom Clarke
“However we have also seen in recent years that numbers have declined. To help try and regenerate this vital part of the club and the community we are looking to raise funds so that we can still provide the professional coaching and tremendous club facilities to the young girls and boys, but make it more financially viable for their families.
He goes on to say “We are also looking to continue our support to the Disability section of the club, which continues to grow. These members are not charged at the moment and we want this to continue into the new future, whilst again still being able to provide them with the latest, safest and proper coaching and club facilities.
