Dove House Hospice is celebrating 25 years of providing excellent care for people in the local community with life limiting illnesses.
Last summer, Nick lost a wife and Scott lost a mother to cancer. Sally, Julie and their families received excellent care and support from Dove House Hospice.
Though Dove House Hospice does receive funding from the local Primary Care Trusts and other statutory bodies, that only enables them to deliver the services they provide to patients for 45 days of the year! They need to raise around £6.1 million to meet the running costs for the remaining 320 days of the year.
The care that they provide to patients and support they provide to families is priceless during these tough times. Without the help of Dove House and its employees this period would be very different.
This challenge is in memory of Sally and Julie whilst raising funds for Dove House Hospice.
Starting from the Morecambe coast, we cycle 42 miles to Malham via Butt Yeats & Settle. Day 2 then takes us 68 miles, over the route’s highest point at Keld Houses (1,325 feet) then down swiftly to Pateley Bridge, passing Ripon and finally to York. On our final day, we travel 58 miles of flat or gently undulating roads to the North Sea coast and a well-earned paddle (pint) at Skipsea!
Friends and family will be partaking with us including Rich Marshall and Piet Hendrix. This will not be an easy challenge for the boys!
We do hope you will be able to support us. Any donation will be much appreciated. All monies will go to support Dove House. The value of any donation is increased if you are able to make a declaration for Gift Aid.
Thanks in advance.
