Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Two retired company directors, Marcus Nimmo and Jim Edgeworth, have formed a team to take part in the 2010 Mongol Rally.  The rally is a sponsored charity event of some 10,000 miles, leaving on 24th July 2010 from Goodwood in England and hopefully arriving some 4 weeks later in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, with a target of raising a total of £25,000 in aid of several childrens and other worthy charities. Around 500  teams, from all over the world,  take part in the Mongol Rally, with vehicles as diverse as Fiat Pandas and Fire Engines. The private cars are auctioned off by the charities in Ulaanbaatar to raise additional funds while the emergency vehicles, which are desperately needed, are donated directly to the emergency services.  We have decided to take a Front Line Ambulance which will be of tremendous
help to a country with very limited resources.

In Mongolia, life can be extremely tough for rural nomadic people. With the fast pace of today's modern world entire communities are lacking vital skills and income to support their families. Mercy Corps is helping to change this by supporting rural communities and herding families through a range of projects that help them live an independent
and sustainable life.
