We are Three Camels - Toni, Rachel and Mark – and in November 2022 we will be taking part in Trek Sahara to raise money for East Cheshire Hospice.

We are doing this in memory of Tim Longden who passed away at the hospice on March 10th 2020. Tim had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour just six week earlier. He spent the last few weeks of his life at East Cheshire Hospice and because of the incredible care he received there, the hospice will always have a very special place in our hearts.

Mere words cannot explain or do justice to how incredible everybody at the hospice was.

Margaret the chaplain and the wonderful staff arranged for Toni and Tim to be married at the hospice on February 27th 2020. It was then we truly realised - not only how generous people can be - but also just what an important part of the community ECH really is. After an appeal was put out the night before the wedding on social media, the hospice was inundated with offers of help. From flowers to drinks to cakes – even wedding dresses!

The response was unbelievable and helped to make Toni and Tim’s wedding day at the hospice truly special. Now Toni and Rachel (Tim’s sister) and Mark (Tim’s brother-in-law) have teamed us as Three Camels to raise much-needed funds for ECH.

None of us have ever done anything like this before but are all excited by the challenge. We are planning lots of other fundraising events in the coming months.
