We work to prevent breast cancer to stop women, and men, being diagnosed.

Story

- Why:

This summer two of the Mum’s of children that play at our rugby club were diagnosed with breast cancer and recently our club president has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Whilst we can’t do much to help those that are currently fighting these horrible diseases, we can raise money and awareness of the diseases.

- What:

A number of us have come up with the idea of setting up an Ironman event where, two teams of 15 will compete in a race and also compete in raising money. Rugby Club parents/players and families of those mentioned will take part, we will have one team raising money for Breast Cancer UK and Prostate Cancer UK. We are aiming to raise a minimum of £1000 per person involved, so £15,000 for each charity. Each team will have 5 swimmers, each swimming 2.4 miles, 5 runners each running 26.2 miles and 5 cyclists each riding 112 miles.

- When:

The event is planned for Sunday the 19th of September 2021.

Obviously, we want to make the event as successful as possible and hopefully with some careful planning we can exceed our fundraising targets.

Training has commenced.
