Story
Nearly 10 years ago we faced the worst day of our lives. Our daughter, Elizabeth (Lily) was born but only lived for a few short hours.
In memory of her, we will be attempting to run 10km or cycle 15km between us every day for the month of September finishing on what would have been her 10th birthday - 30th Sep 2022. That's the equivalent of running over 7 marathons! We've both run marathons previously but that was with bodies that were 15 years younger so this is going to be a huge physical and logistical challenge. It's going to take a lot of will power to get out there everyday when legs are aching from the previous days and we have to fit it in around work, school runs and kids activities. I'm sure your support will help keep us going.
We are now fortunate enough to have two healthy (and lovely most of the time!) children but there will always be one missing from our family.
We'll be raising money for two fantastic charities:
Tommy's (www.tommys.org/) which is a leading charity finding causes and treatments to save babies' lives and;
LinkAble (www.linkable.org.uk/) which is a local charity which supports children and adults with learning disabilities (after her birth we discovered that Lily had Down's Syndrome). As a Trustee for LinkAble since 2019, Richard has seen first hand the difference the charity to makes to it's service users and how important fundraising support is.
Any support that you can give is much appreciated.
