Story
Dan, & Martin are raising money for The Pelican Cancer Foundation, Woking Hospice and the PMP Survivor charities with a (albeit slightly crazy!) cycling challenge!
The Lichfield 2 Lightwater ride is a 133 mile ride which we will attempt to complete on Sunday 23rd August 2020 - yes in a single day (Dan's crazy idea!)!
The route is a combination of roads and cycle paths travelling from Lichfield in Staffordshire, down towards Lemington Spa, to Banbury, across to Oxford and down to Reading and from there to Bracknell and finally across to Lightwater.
Why are we doing this? Madness? Yes maybe but the real reason is that I had a very special friend Jemily Brown who went on a journey with a rare type of cancer called Pseudomyxoma (or PMP as it is easier to say!). This type of cancer is often undetected and over the course of the last 2 years Jem had undergone a major operation to remove infected organs & chemotherapy but sadly on the 18th February 2020 she passed away.
The early parts of her story can be found on the link below to an article in the Daily mail:

In loving memory of Jem and to support the charities which have help her massively on her journey we are undertaking this challenge.
The Pelican Cancer Foundation
The Pseudomyxoma Survivor
The Woking Hospice
Further information on each of these charities are available on the individual fundraising pages in the team member section
We hope to raise £10,000 to split between the charities so please consider a generous donation!
