Kris and Ashley Pay will be competing in the 2010 event, the details of which are given below. We have until March 2010 to raise money for Macmillan Trust, and hope to raise between £1000 and £2000. The event is basically 1000 miles over 2 days involving night sections, getting stuck in mud, getting lost, and getting very little sleep!!

We will keep this page updated now the event is getting closer, and have sorted out means to upload pictures during and after the event to keep you all posted on how we are getting on!

The "Mac 4x4" is a "challenge" for 4x4 enthusiasts. It aims at testing navigational, orienteering and observation skills, with on and off road sections - depending on conditions, and endurance by day and night. Initially teams only know where they are starting from, the route being unfolded with the issue of road books as the event unfolds until the finish - usually in Cheshire. Night stops mean sleeping in the vehicle or a tent if carried. Teams are asked to commit to raising a minimum sponsorship of £600 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Competitors are responsible for their own fuel and sustenance en route.
