Story
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page! As you've found this, you might already know about the challenge I've set myself for July this year, but I'll do a brief synopsis for those who don't!
I am going to attempt to "Swim the Minch", the stretch of water from mainland Scotland to the Outer Hebrides. We have planned out a route that is approximately 15 miles - give or take a couple depending on the tides on the day! - from the Isle of Skye to the Isle of Harris.
I decided to raise money for two charities with this event - one local and one national, as I think this represents the cross-channel swim well! The national charity chosen was Breast Cancer Care, a charity dedicated to supporting and enhancing the lives of people with Breast Cancer. This is a cause close to my heart, and I'm doing this in memory of my favourite sea swimming enthusiat, Anthea Logan. The local charity is The Leanne Trust, which is a new charity on the Isle of Lewis. I have had to create 2 pages as JustGiving can't split money raised, so I hope that's not too confusing.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
Any donations made are so appreciated, and every penny makes me even more determined to "Swim the Minch!" in the summer of 2010.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
