Story

LEL done! I arrived back in London on Thursday everning, after 109 hours 35 mins.  Thank you to everybody who sent good wishes and encouragement before and during the ride.  It was tough and your support was much appreciated.  It was also wonderful to see donations being made while I was on the road.

I have posted a ride report on my blog: http://swarm-catcher-lel.blogspot.com/

If you haven't yet, you can still donate!

Having worked in development for 7 years, I set out never to raise money myself.  However, LEL is such a big challenge for me, that I made an exception.  You will never hear me ask for donations again!

What:     1400km cycling endurance event in 116 hours

Where:   London to Edinburgh and back to London

When:     Between 26th and 31st July - that is this Sunday!!

Why:      Answers on postcards please ...

And why Bees for Development? For some families it's the start out of poverty because they can sell surplus honey, make beer, produce candles, etc.  Its also the less tangible work that needs support, for example the UN sanctions in Iraq meant that beekeepers could not get hold of treatment against the varroa mite, leading to 15% loss of colonies.  BfD raises awareness of such issues.
