Story
In May of 2012 I'll be on the starting line of a unique endurance event. A small handful of hardy souls will set out to run the course of the Windermere marathon. And the next day, we'll do it again. And the day after that. And the day after that......
Ten marathons, in ten days.
It's a huge challenge. It'll take preparation, thousands of miles run in training, support, encouragement, and every ounce of will-power and determination to complete. And along with those thousands of miles run in training, we hope to be raising thousands of pounds of sponsorship along the way.....in support of The Brathay Trust.
I'm lucky. I've had opportunities, and I can choose to run marathons for fun. Many, many young people don't get those same opportunities, through no fault of their own. For them, the struggles of day to day life must feel like a marathon. A marathon every day.
Brathay works with young people. It provides second chances to people who maybe never even had a first chance; more importantly than that, it equips young people with the confidence, skills and simple self belief and self respect to create their own chances and opportunities.
I'll be running 262 miles - a marathon every day, for ten consecutive days - to support the work that Brathay do. I hope you will support me in this, by donating here, and so help Brathay to keep helping young people.
