Story
On the 8th September 2013 we will be cycling the 47 mile Glasgow to Edinburgh Pedal for Scotland challenge.
Why?
We started our weight loss journey in January 2013. At this stage we had never set foot in a gym, got tired walking up stairs, and lived off takeaways and chocolate.
Through hard work and determination (lots of determination given the amount of cakes and sweets at work!) we have so far lost 168lbs between us. That's 12 stones! This wasn't easy though, and for the last 7 months we have spent at least 5 nights per week at the gym, and pushed ourselves harder than we thought we could.
So what now?
We are both now a "healthy" BMI and feel good about ourselves. We are continuing eating healthy and exercising.
We have recently ran in a couple of 5k runs (in a decent enough time!) and feel it is time now to extend the benefits not just for our health, but for a charitable cause.
This challenge involves us cycling from Glasgow-to-Edinburgh on a 47 mile route. The most we have cycled in the past is 20 miles so this should be tough. However, we see this as a culmination of our efforts for the past year and so we know we will make that finish line smiling.
Why "Children With Cancer UK"?
During our first ever 5k run, we noticed a large group of people running for this charity. As soon as we saw their vests with the charity name on, we knew this was a fantastic cause to represent due to the amazing work they do both in research and in welfare.
Please donate whatever you can. Everyone £ helps and goes towards this fantastic charity.
