I am ex-POMEA Steve (Sam) Chard and served in the Royal Navy 1974-87. I was a submariner, 2nd Submarine Squadron, Devonport, my boats were Spartan, Swiftsure, Sceptre and Splendid.

The Stanley Marathon 2008 is being run on Sun. 16th March, right at the end of the 25th anniversary year of the war to liberate the Falkland Islands and South Georgia  from the Argentine invasion on 2nd April 1982 -I am running it to remember 3 friends killed in the campaign and to pay my respects  to ALL who went south.

I can't think of a better way of doing this than to actually run in Stanley and in so doing raise a huge sum for 'The Legion' !
