Mount Blanc Ascent · 24 July 2010
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
You may recall that last summer, I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and this was the chrysalis for my Year 6 class to raise money for the Christies at Oldham Appeal. This was so successful, raising an amazing £5000.00, that this year I have decided to climb Mont Blanc in the French Alps, the highest mountain in Western Europe at a mere 4810metres. Again, I will be funding the trip myself and my Year 6 class have democratically decided to utilize this to raise money for the charities Help for Heroes and the B.I.R.D Charity. Help for Heroes is a charity which “does exactly what it says on the tin” and claims to be the only charity that is 110% effective. For every £1 donated, £1.10 goes directly to helping wounded service men and women. The B.I.R.D Charity (Brain Injury Rehabilitation & Development) is an independent charity that has existed since 1982 to provide its unique approach to the treatment of neurological impairment known as 'Developmental Reflexive Rehabilitation'. Using this approach they work to improve the quality of life of people irrespective of age or severity of condition and treat people with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, communication disorders, autism, ADHD, epilepsy, dyslexia, dyspraxia, behavioural disorders and other neurological impairments.
