Story
On Sunday 26th April, Roselyn and I ran the London Marathon on behalf of the Make A Wish Foundation!!!
I'm sure you may be curious as to why we've chosen Make A Wish when there are countless worthwhile causes out there to potentially support. There are 2 main reasons which lie personally close to our hearts and we'd just like to elaborate a little as to show how this means so much to us as a family.
Firstly, our daughter Stephanie returned home in August of last year, where she had been working in Florida for Disney as part of her University degree. She has returned with so many fond memories of her time there whilst working as a character performer, especially when she came in contact with many children who were out there fullfilling a dream made possible by Make A Wish and by people's generous donations from all over the world. Stephanie often comments to people "Even in the hardest of times and even though the kids were very seriously ill, meeting one of their favourite characters would give the kids a lift and bring a smile to their faces, and to the families who often accompanied them on their dream". It’s something that she'll never forget.
The second reason is also one that lies very close to our hearts. Five years ago, our best friend’s daughter tragically died of cancer. However, before she past away she went with her family to Lapland through Make A Wish and its something which they will never ever forget, and they are so grateful for precious memories of the time together.
Make A Wish has confirmed that all the money we raise will be spent on children from North East of Scotland, which we had requested and are delighted about.
At the request of Make A Wish a few weeks back, we are delighted to have sponsored a seriously ill girl, and her family from the Northeast, to have a memorable weekend in London. All this would not have been possible without the generous donations of family, friends and work colleagues.
We are also hoping to raise sufficient funds to send a family over to Disney World in Florida in the near future.
We know that you will be forever being asked for donations for very worthy causes, and we know it is impossible to grant everyone but every little bit helps and we thank you for taking the time to read this and anything you can contribute is massively appreciated.
From the bottom of our hearts we thank you.
Best Wishes,
Stephen and Roselyn
