Story
I have set this page up to raise money for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice. It is a place that is well known to a lot of people often for the worst reasons, the loss of a loved one. However, the time and care they will receive in the hospice during their last few days is second to none. The nurses there are all absolutely amazing and deserve a medal for what they do. I am running the 5k ruby run in memory of my Uncle who was the most kind-hearted man I ever knew with the heart of a lion, anyone that was privileged enough to have met him will agree with this! He did not go into the Douglas Macmillan as he was too ill but I have always known this hospice to be a great place for people and their families through the hardest times.
Thanks for taking the time to listen to my story and visit my JustGiving page. I would urge you all to donate to such an amazing cause anything from £1 to £10 is amazing for them, it states on their website what costs patient care etc is and to think this is probably a quarter of your day's wage is crazy!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I will also be challenging myself to other activities throughout the year but to raise money for the UHNS which was where my Uncle received his treament.
Thankyou so much for any donation made, it is not only appreciated by me but also everyone at the Hospice!
