Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 22nd March 2013 Frank Mc Nelis will make the journey from St Ciaran's College Ballygawley to a new nursery school that is almost complete in Mulenga Zambia by motorbike. (St Ciaran's Ballygawley to St Ciaran's Zambia) The trip will take about 8 weeks through all types of terrain and extreme weather (from the snow capped Alps to the Saharan desert) and take him through 20 countries over approx 10,000 miles. Frank will carry out the St Ciaran's Crest for the new school and will keep us all fully informed with an online blog (& twitter account) tracking his movement through the various countries. Clips of his journey will also be posted on You Tube. Frank's 8 week journey to Zambia will also coincide with the official opening of their first new Community Hall/Church on the 26th May which will be a huge community celebration.
One independent TV company has expressed an interest in following the story and we are hopeful that local and national newspapers and radio will also follow his journey. (and highlight this good news story !) Primarily this is a journey to celebrate all that has happened in this community since 2009 but we also hope it will serve to raise funds to oversee the completion of both these projects. To this end we have set a target of getting 10,000 people to support Frank on this odyssey by texting/sponsoring him for every mile he completes. (£2 a text per person would give us a grand total of £20,000). We would appreciate all help and support with the promotion and sponsorship of this project in whatever means possible. (Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure either online or by phone).
