Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online
The Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) Committee has entered the Scott time and observation motorcycle trial, held in deepest Yorkshire on 20 October.
The Scott trial is a time and observation event run over an off road course of approximately 70 miles. (I have just been told its more like 85 miles !) The riders lose marks for "footing" in the 70 or so observed sections and for finishing behind the fastest rider who sets standard time.
It has been described as the greatest test of man and machine and is an event in which the clubman riders can still compete on the same course as top international stars
Our team is made up of Leigh Bremner (the young blood), Grant Taylor (he carries the pies) and Mark Whitham (the old man) and we will be competing as a relay team trying to finished the course within the standard time allowed set by the fastest man (this will not be easy!)
Our charity, Lochaber mountain rescue is made up of unpaid volunteers who give up their time to provide a search and rescue service over the Lochaber area of Scotland - if you have ever ridden in the SSDT or walked out to spectate any of the remote sections you will be comforted to know that the mountain rescue service exists.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Lochaber Mountain Rescue Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
Report: although not exactly to plan we did complete the event. Grant's bike seized and he had to push it for miles, Mark and Leigh continued and finished the course if a little out of time. thank you to all those who shouted encouragement along the way.
