UPDATE: Al-hamdulilah, both wells have been completed and many needy people are using the wells. Video Uploaded!
Seeking Reward Foundation (SRF) last Water Wells opportunity was for 2 Water Wells in Uganda (al-hamdulilah all the funds are in Uganda and construction for the 1st well has begun). The following day after the target was raised we received a large donation. Once the donor was advised their donation missed out on the Uganda Water Wells, they advised to put their donation towards the next SRF Water Wells Project.
SRF did not want to wait to launch another Water Wells project while many people are suffering throughout Africa. Therefore immediately after Uganda wells are complete, SRF are moving to Kenya insha-Allah!
Although over 50% of the target has already been raised, you still have an opportunity to donate towards a high capacity deep bore well in Kenya!
Water Well 1
SRF will be building this well in the Butere region in the Kakamega district (Western Kenya). This is one of the poorest regions in Kenya with a large population of underprivileged people. The people here are suffering a lot and there is a regular outbreak of cholera in this area because of lack of safe drinking water.
The poor and needy people of this region rely on farming, however, their farming situation is worse than other parts of Kenya. In this region of Butere as in much parts of Africa, the lack of clean water is causing severe problems including dehydration, starvation and all types of diseases.
The duties of fetching water is not a small issue in this rural region of Butere. Young women often walk 15 miles to collect water from whatever sources they can find such as polluted streams and rivers which are full of parasites and bacteria. Not only is the water they find life threatening but so is the journey. The rivers and paths these young women have to take are patrolled by filthy criminals who rape, kill and then use their body parts for rituals.
Water Well 2
SRF will be building this well in Bungoma. The people of Bungoma lack basic clean water and resources not only as drinking water but also for agriculture, livestock and fishing .The population of Bungoma are greatly affected by lack of clean drinking water. The destruction of trees has caused massive erosion which pollutes water along with human and animal waste. This causes a number of diseases. As clean water becomes scarce animals and people (especially children and elders) are dying on a daily basis. Crops get affected and droughts bring about famine, malnutrition, hunger and deaths. This area needs water wells.
