Story
Skatoons, Spirit and Saxshop are putting on a benefit gig at the Brunswick Pub on Wednesday 29th August.
Here's the story: I went on holiday to France just a couple of weeks ago, 1st August 2012. I had a headache for the whole journey - we nearly didn't go. I'd had a headache pretty much for the whole previous month.
I went to bed and Susan called the doctor who suggested that I go to A&E. They scanned me and found a 5cm tumour in my left frontal lobe.
A few days later I was air ambulanced to Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath. A few days after that, on Friday 10th August, I was transferred to the Hurstwood Park Neurosurgery unit and had a brain operation where they removed the tumour.
I am now waiting for the oncology report which will tell me how serious the tumour is - whether it is benign or malignant, what my survival chances are etc.
The staff at Hurstwood Park have been amazing and I want to do something to help them carry on their amazing work, so my friends have suggested that we put on a charity gig night on Wednesday 29th August.
Please do come to the gig - it will feature Skatoons, Spirit and Saxshop, three bands that I have a lot to do with. I am going to try and make it down on the night, and if I can I'll play. The gig will cost £8.
Lots of love
Simon
